HOW TO ANIMATE LIKE A PRO IN CICI4D: A COMPLETE TUTORIAL

GET READY TO MOVE

Open Cici4D. Hit “New Project”. You’re 30 seconds in. No fluff.

SET UP YOUR SCENE FAST

Click the “Objects” tab. Drag a cube into the viewport. This is your first animated object. Rename it “Hero”. Double-click the name in the object manager. Type “Hero”. Hit Enter.

MASTER THE TIMELINE IN 60 SECONDS

Press F3. The timeline appears. Drag the playhead to frame 0. Click the red record button. Move the playhead to frame 30. Drag your Hero cube up 200 units on the Y-axis. Release. Hit play. Your cube jumps. Animation 101 complete.

KEYFRAME BASICS: DO IT NOW

Select your Hero cube. Press “A” to open attributes. Find the “Position” parameter. Click the small circle next to it. A keyframe appears at frame 0. Move to frame 60. Drag the cube right 300 units on the X-axis. Click the circle again. Play. Your cube glides. Two keyframes = motion.

SMOOTH MOVES: EASE IN AND OUT

Right-click the first keyframe in the timeline. Select “Ease In”. Right-click the second keyframe. Select “Ease Out”. Play. Your cube now accelerates and decelerates. Pro motion in 10 seconds.

ROTATE LIKE A PRO

Select Hero. Press “A”. Find “Rotation”. Click the circle at frame 0. Move to frame 90. Set rotation to 360 degrees on the Y-axis. Click the circle. Play. Your cube spins. Adjust rotation values for wild flips.

SCALE FOR DRAMA

Select Hero. Press “A”. Find “Scale”. Click the circle at frame 0. Move to frame 120. Set scale to 200% on all axes. Click the circle. Play. Your cube grows. Shrink it back at frame 150 for impact.

USE THE GRAPH EDITOR FOR PRECISION

Press Shift+F3. The graph editor opens. Select your position keyframes. Drag the handles to curve the motion. Steeper curves = faster movement. Flatter curves = slower. Play. Tweak until it feels right.

ADD A CAMERA FOR CINEMATIC SHOTS

Click the “Camera” icon. Drag a camera into the scene. Press “C” to activate it. Move it to frame your Hero. Animate the camera like an object. Keyframe position and rotation. Play. Your shot now has movement.

LIGHT YOUR SCENE IN 3 STEPS

Drag a “Sky” object into the scene. Click the “Lights” tab. Drag a “Spot” light. Position it above and to the side of Hero. Adjust intensity to 150%. Play. Your scene has mood.

TEXTURE LIKE A PRO

Select Hero. Press “A”. Find “Material”. Click the “…” button. Choose “New Material”. Double-click the material. Change color to red. Drag the material onto Hero. Play. Your cube pops.

ANIMATE TEXT IN 5 STEPS

Drag a “Text” object into the scene. Type “Cici4D”. Press “A”. Find “Text”. Animate the “Start” and “End” parameters. Keyframe from 0 to 100 over 60 frames. Play. Your text writes itself.

USE DEFORMERS FOR ORGANIC MOTION

Select Hero. Click the “Deformers” tab. Drag a “Bend” deformer onto Hero. Press “A”. Adjust “Strength” to 50%. Animate the “Angle” parameter. Play. Your cube bends like rubber.

ADD PARTICLES FOR EFFECTS

Click the “Particles” tab. Drag a “Emitter” into the scene. Position it above Hero. Press “A”. Set “Birth Rate” to 50. Animate “Speed” and “Scale”. Play. Particles rain down.

RENDER YOUR ANIMATION

Press Ctrl+B. The render settings open. Set “Output” to your folder. Choose “MP4” format. Set resolution to 1920×1080. Click “Render”. Wait. Your animation exports.

OPTIMIZE RENDER SPEED

Lower “Anti-Aliasing” to “Geometry”. Reduce “Shadow Samples” to 8. Enable “Multi-Pass” for post-editing. Render again. Faster results.

USE PRESETS FOR QUICK SETUPS

Click the “Presets” tab. Drag a “Studio” preset into the scene. Adjust lights and camera. Play. Instant pro lighting.

ANIMATE A CHARACTER IN 5 MINUTES

Drag a “Figure” object into the scene. Click the “Rig” tab. Select “Auto-Rig”. Animate the “Hips” position. Keyframe every 10 frames. Play. Your character walks.

ADD SOUND FOR IMPACT

Click the “Sound” tab. Drag an audio file into the timeline. Align keyframes to beats. Play. Your animation syncs to music.

USE LAYERS FOR COMPLEX SCENES

Press F4. The layers panel opens. Name layers: “Hero”, “Background”, “Effects”. Toggle visibility. Organize. Play. Your scene stays clean.

ANIMATE A LOGO IN 3 STEPS

Drag a “Logo” object into the scene. Press “A”. Find “Logo”. Animate “Reveal” from 0 to 100. Play. Your logo appears.

MASTER THE DOPE SHEET

Press Shift+F2. The dope sheet opens. Select all keyframes. Drag to adjust timing. Play. Your animation speeds up or slows down.

USE MOTION CLONES FOR REPEATS

Select Hero. Press Alt+Drag to duplicate. Animate the clone separately. Play. Two cubes, double the motion.

ADD SHADERS FOR REALISM

Select Hero. Press “A”. Find “Shader”. Click “…”. Choose “Noise”. Adjust “Scale” to 50%. Play. Your cube looks textured.

ANIMATE A FLY-THROUGH

Select the camera. Keyframe position at frame 0. Move to frame 180. Position the camera inside Hero. Play. Your shot flies through the cube.

USE EXPRESSIONS FOR AUTOMATION

Select Hero. Press “A”. Find “Position”. Click the “…” next to X. Type “sin(time)*100”. Play. Your cube wobbles automatically.

RENDER A STILL FRAME

Move the playhead to your favorite frame. Press Ctrl+R. Set format to “PNG”. Click “Render”. Save. Your frame is ready.

ANIMATE A BOUNCE

Select Hero. Keyframe position at frame 0. Move to frame 15. Drop Hero to the ground. Keyframe. Move to frame 30. Lift Hero halfway. Keyframe. Play. Your cube bounces.

USE THE TAKE SYSTEM FOR VARIATIONS

Click the “Takes” tab. Create a new take. Animate Hero differently. Toggle takes. Play. Compare versions instantly.

ADD A BACKGROUND QUICKLY

Drag a “Background” object into the scene. Press “A”. Change color to dark blue. Play. Your scene has depth.
